SOFIA SINGER SONGWRITER FEST – an international festival dedicated to acoustic music and poetry

At the end of September, an international forum for singer-songwriters is organized in Sofia: Sofia Singer Songwriter Fest. The festival is dedicated to International Poetry and Music Day – October 1st. 

The program consists of a competition round, during which talented poets on guitars perform. Each presents two original songs while a three-member jury including a foreign guest of honor evaluates the performances based on the following criteria: lyrics, music, vocals, guitar and stage presence. 

The program continues with recitals by famous Bulgarian bards, such as Tochka BG, Asen Maslarski and others. Afterparties follow at the SOHO club as well as a jam session. Due to the incredible interest, a preliminary program was introduced – the venue is the Delta Blues Bar and the participants include young artists. The festival’s partners include foreign embassies, Factor Music House, Kremona guitars, Jameson whiskey, Toxity records as well as others.

Sofia Singer Songwriter Fest is part of Sofia Municipality’s cultural calendar. A small but united team works to bring the festival to light:   Valya Nadova, Stanislava Dimitrova, Angel Koruchev, Vasil Gromkov, Viktor Makarov and Plamen Sivov. The project was inspired and initiated by Lilly Drumeva.
