In the hot summer days, the musicians of Lilly of the West are recoding their eighth studio album, which is a Christmas collection. It is called Christmas with Lilly of the West, and it features golden standards, such as Joy to the World, White Christmas, Winter Wonderland, Silver Bells, Jingle Bells, Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree and more. The band is creating new arrangements by weaving its country flavor into them and so breathing new life into the old familiar works.
In addition to English, Lilly Drumeva (founder and lead singer) sings in German and French in featured classics, such as Minuit, chretiens by Adolfe Adam and Stille Nacht by Franz Xaver Gruber. Lilly of the West’s Christmas album, recorded by Stanislav Donev (Retro Studio) and Stamen Yanev (mixing and mastering), also contains the famous gospel Go Tell it on the Mountain, as well as Hallelujah, the emblematic song by Canadian composer Leonard Cohen. The album features foreign guest musicians as well.
The collection Christmas with Lilly of the West is expected to release in November 2023 and will be presented at a celebratory concert.
