Lilly Drumeva and her Irish music project – Celtic Dream

Лили Друмева и Коста Ланджов

Irish ballads, virtuoso guitar solos, a tender voice, violin and mandolin sounds are at the heart of a new music project created by Lilly Drumeva-O’Reilly and Kostadin Landzhov. Both musicians have considerable experience on the stage and long careers. The duo recently gave a concert at The Art Foundation, during which they presented their new repertoire of Irish and Scottish ballads. Among them were popular Irish melodies like Red is the Rose, Down by the Sally Gardens and The Water is White. The musicians performed the famous Scottish hymn, Wild Mountain Thyme, based on Robert Burns’ text. Huge Irish hits were also in the set list – Whiskey in the Jar and The Wild Rover. The concert ended with the emblematic Scottish song, My Bonnie is over the Ocean, to which the audience sang along. Lilly and Kosta were called for an encore to perform another Scottish hymn – Auld Lang Syne – known in Bulgaria under the name “For the Old Love” and performed by Vanya Kostova.

Kostadin Landzhov graduated from New Bulgarian University, classic guitar, and has a rich repertoire of works by Antonio Vivaldi, Ferdinando Carulli, Georg Philipp Telemann, Astor Piazzolla etc. Kostadin has given numerous concerts in Bulgaria and abroad. He is keen on Celtic, ethno and world music. He plays the classical and western guitar, combining different instrumental techniques. Two years ago he issued a new album of original content, Acoustic Stories.
